Why he became a chiropractor
Dr. Toth was a biology major playing college football when he was hurt. He’d had a similar injury in high school, and none of the practitioners he saw back then could help. This time he went to a chiropractor, and within two months he was back on the field for his senior season.
He already wanted a career in health care. That experience decided which one.
Training
After college he spent two years coaching and teaching, then went back to school at 24. He earned his Doctor of Chiropractic from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1980 and opened Toth Chiropractic and Wellness in Morgantown that same year.
He has kept studying since:
- B.S. in Biology
- Doctor of Chiropractic, Palmer College of Chiropractic (1980)
- More than 100 hours of orthopedic coursework, National College of Chiropractic
- Certification in physiological therapeutics, National College of Chiropractic
- A 100-hour post-graduate course in chiropractic rehabilitation, Los Angeles College of Chiropractic
- Acupuncture certification, New York College
- Graduate courses in athletic training, West Virginia University
- Personal trainer certification, American Council on Exercise
How he works
Patients describe him as gentle and thorough. He works the muscles first and adjusts when it’s needed, and he takes the time to explain what he found and why the plan looks the way it does. Questions are welcome.
Away from the office
He’s a Pittsburgh Steelers and WVU Mountaineers fan and keeps up with the local high school teams around Morgantown. He and Sheree exercise together and spend as much time as they can with their children and grandchildren.
